At The Village Within, we believe every family deserves a village.Founded in Baltimore, Maryland, The Village Within is a community-centered nonprofit dedicated to supporting families and caregivers by providing diapers, baby essentials, and access to valuable resources.We believe no parent should have to navigate the challenges of raising a family alone. Our mission is to create a welcoming, judgment-free community where families feel seen, supported, and empowered.Through our monthly Village Day distributions, community partnerships, and ongoing family assistance, we’re building a stronger Baltimore—one family at a time.Because Every Family Deserves a Village.
Meet Our Founder
Sharonda Barnes | Founder of The Village WithinAs a former foster youth and a mother, I understand firsthand what it means to need a village.Growing up, I experienced the importance of having people who show up, provide support, and make a difference when it matters most. Those experiences inspired me to create something meaningful for families in Baltimore.The Village Within was born from a simple belief: no family should have to struggle alone or feel ashamed to ask for help.I’ve been the child who needed a village, the mother who needed support, and now I’m helping build a village for others.This is more than a nonprofit. It’s a community built on compassion, dignity, and love.

At The Village Within, we’re committed to making essential resources more accessible to families throughout Baltimore.🌿 Diapers & WipesProviding diapers and wipes to help families meet their children’s everyday needs.🍼 Baby & Children’s EssentialsConnecting families with clothing, feeding supplies, hygiene products, and other available necessities.🏡 Monthly Village DaysHosting monthly community distributions where families can receive essential supplies and connect with local resources.🤝 Community Support & ResourcesWorking alongside community partners to connect caregivers with additional services, guidance, and support.All assistance is based on available supplies and resources. No income verification is required.
